PREVIOUSLY- UNKNOWN CANADIAN AUTHOR SHORT-LISTED FOR TWO INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARDS

London, ON – Two books by Canadian author Dr. Kevin White, originally of New Brunswick but now living in Ontario, have just been short-listed for Readers Favorite Book Awards, a large international book competition with thousands of submissions that is open to both published and non-published authors.

Short-listed in the non-fiction health category is Dr. White’s book – Breaking Thru the  Fibro Fog: Scientific Proof Fibromyalgia Is Real –   a very easy to read book that, by reviewing scientific evidence that has been published worldwide over the past 20 to 30 years, specifically answers the question: Is Fibromyalgia Real?  Given that one in four Canadian doctors continue to believe that fibromyalgia doesn’t even exist or is merely psychological, despite mounting evidence to the contrary, White’s book is both timely and important as doctors in practice and society in general struggle to catch up with advancing medical technology in the area of chronic pain.

Dr. White also is short-listed for his poignantly-written novel, called Inside a Hollow Tree, which tells the story of a 14-year old boy named Dalton Hobby, who arrives at an all-boys boarding school carrying one small suitcase, plus one green garbage bag filled with a lifetime of secrets.  The Readers’ Favorite review describes the book as “a sad, yet extremely intoxicating story about a young boy who has suffered many life tragedies that most people will never have to go through: such as sexual, verbal, and physical abuse, abandonment, teasing, and ridicule… This book is wonderful and brings you into the mind of someone so different from anyone you have ever known.”

Final results of the competition will be posted on September 1st on the Readers Favorite Awards website at http://readersfavorite.com/, with an awards banquet scheduled for early November 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Breaking Thru the Fibro Fog is available through Chapters/Indigo, Barnes & Noble, Atlas Books, BookMasters, www.amazon.com and www.wortleyroadbooks.com.To contact the author, call 519.266.3764 or email dr.kpwhite@wortleyroadbooks.com .

Inside a Hollow Tree is available as an eBook through www.wortleyroadbooks.com.
